We recently became aware of a great Denver non-profit named “Period Kits” which provides sanitary period products to teens & adults facing homelessness and extreme poverty. So we decided to take action! Throughout the month of July the New Era Group will be leading a donation drive for boxes of tampons, pads, liners, personal wipes and 6-packs of underwear of any size. Our team of compassionate and giving individuals will be donating and helping assemble these products into kits for the Period Kits organization.
Join Us and Make a Difference!
Please join us in the effort by making a donation of any or all of the items above. You can drop off your donation at the New Era Group office, 2441 Eliot Street, Denver, CO 80211 anytime Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Then, at the end of July, the entire New Era Team will organize all of the supplies that have been donated into kits. Our goal is to collectively make a big contribution to Period Kits and those in need in our community.
It’s Really About Dignity
Geoff Davis of Period Kits expressed, “Partnering with New Era Group and Your Castle Real Estate is a huge blessing for us, and we are going to be able to do something tangible like build kits that we can then get to people in need, and more importantly be able to spread our message.” He continued, “I really respect this company for taking on this project and helping Period Kits ensure that anyone who has a period has dependable, consistent access to the products they need when they need them. It’s about dignity, period.”
Meeting a Need in Our Community
Period Kits envisions a world where anyone who has a period has dependable, consistent access to the products they need when they need them. The non-profit also partners with local businesses, churches and community organizations to raise awareness around this need by holding collection drives and fundraising events. The kits that New Era Group puts together will be given to either a low-income school, women’s shelter or charity.
Volunteers that distribute the kits have described the experience as profound. One New Era’s own explained, “I got invited to a period kit party with another company and we built all of them. Some people from that party have had the opportunity to personally hand them to people in need and the people would break down sobbing thanking them.”
