John Stegner Sr. has a Masters Degree in Developmental Planning from Colorado State University and is a past Member of its Board of Governors. During his tenure as a fee-based Financial Planner with the Heartland Companies of Aurora, Colorado, he earned the designation of Certified Financial Educator (CFE) and taught Financial Wellness Classes for Colorado State University, Aurora Community College and Aims Community College.
John and his wife Bonnie have been a part of the Fort Collins community for over 50 years. They continue to live on the family farm where they ran a large commercial dairy for 25 years. During that same period, they helped found and were co-presidents of the School Board for Riverdell School, a British Primary Grade School, which today has over 150 students. They enjoy spending time with their four children and their spouses, seven grandchildren, three dogs and one dignified fat cat.
John has an abiding belief in contributing to his community, a desire to help people fulfill dreams, and a commitment to providing the best possible service to all who decide to work with him as their real estate agent.

Buying and selling a house can be very stressful on a family. John and Bonnie have a great sense of humor which made the experience much more enjoyable for my daughter and I. We had a lot of fun looking at houses, and they were patient while we waded through many neighborhoods looking for the right place to move to. John and Bonnie love animals and were especially in tuned to our need for a neighborhood and home that was dog-friendly. Also, I was impressed with their diligence in getting my house sold in a slow market. Their aggressive advertising paid off. We sold our home and moved in to the perfect home in a great neighborhood!
My husband and I bought a house from John and Bonnie in October 2006. We had looked at several houses with them and I was afraid we were trying their patience because we had great expectations with a limited price range. John and Bonnie were so interesting and comfortable to be around. They actually made house hunting fun. They were always prompt and seemed to have an insight to what we were looking for, which paid off for us because they encouraged us to look at a house we didn't think would suit us, but as it turned out, it was just the house we had been dreaming of.

They helped us at the last minute when coming from Wisconsin to Colorado and they made sure everything went smoothly. They helped us find a house, close on the house, and move in in less than 45 days total!! They treated us with the respect others may not have because we are so young and unconventional. They even made fast friends with our greyhound!! We have the perfect house and eight months later we are still in contact with them!! Everything was about us no matter the inconvenience it may have played upon them. We would suggest then to anyone who wants a reality experience that's not normal.......meaning one that is reliable and memorable; that they use John & Bonnie!! What more could you ask for?
John and Bonnie are great, they are diligent thorough and hard working. We were about to put an offer on a house that was beautiful but just not quite the dream house. Bonnie went above and beyond in her search that day for other properties and found a house for us that was everything we ever wanted and more. It had what we were looking for, and it was less expensive. They put our needs above all else, I would recommend them anytime!
I really enjoyed working with John and Bonnie. They were very flexible and willing to show me as many houses as my daughter and I wanted to see. Even 12 in one day!! They were a lot of fun to work with and very knowledgeable in all aspects of the real estate business. I would highly recommend them to anyone. P.S.
